Microblading: Promise it won't hurt!
Updated: Jan 6, 2019
Are you hesitant to get your brows microbladed because "it hurts"? I promise you it won't hurt!
Why am i so confident? The majority of my clients liken the sensation felt during microblading to getting your brows plucked or threaded. I have even heard, from some of my clients, that tweezing and threading are actually less desirable.
The reason the pain is so minimal, is because I use some great numbing products. At the beginning of each session, usually while my clients are filling out their paperwork, I apply the first layer numbing. The numbing solution stays on the skin between 25-35 minutes. The numbing agent is great to help minimize discomfort.
After the allotted time, the agent is wiped off and I map the shape of the brows. The mapping takes about 20-30 minutes. Mapping your brows allows you to see the shape and make any suggestions or revisions to the shape before proceeding.
Once we have settled on the shape, the microblading will commence. After double confirming the shape on my end, I start to apply the first pass of hairstrokes. I usually do 2-4 passes for each eyebrow. Between each pass, i apply a second numbing solution. Tried and true, the second numbing agent and first have proven to be the best combination.
I do pluck random hairs that fall out of the original map. It never fails that my clients feels the tweezing and not the microblading. Another tidbit is that my clients say that they can hear the blades against their skin. When that noise sounds, that means I am doing my job and applying the strokes in the right place...between the epidermal and dermal skin layers.
To sum it up, if your question is "does it hurt", there may be slight to no discomfort. I do everything possible to keep my clients comfortable and as painfree as possible.
